Sony has decided to take their PlayStation Portable to a new level. Just this June 6, 2011, the President of Sony, Mr. Ryoji Chubachi, unveils the PS Vita at the E3 2011. The PlayStation Vita is the next Generation Portable PlayStation with a interesting feature but not sa new design, this is the Sony's latest gaming device after the PlayStation Go and probably before the PSP E-1000 which is set to be announced later this November 2011. Below, I will also show you a sneak peak of a game called Dynasty Warriors that's being played on the Vita.

The Design, Hardware and Features
If there is one thing that I'm disappointed about, as a gamer, is the PSPish-Nothing-Newish Design. Sony has, perhaps decided to avoid any more further upgrade or changes to the hardware design. The PS Vita have a size of 83.55 mm in height, 182 mm in width and 18.6 mm in dimension. Button placement is 90% PSP like, D-Pad and Left Analog on the left, and Select, Start, Shape-Buttons and Right Analog on the right side. Of course, there are the famous L, R and Volume Control buttons on top, Left and Right Speakers, and the famous new "Multi-touch Rear TouchPad".

Putting the design aside, the hardware of the PlayStation Vita is quite impressive itself. A front 640x480 60fps front camera and a 320x240 120fps back camera will surely help live the PS Vita's claim to be the next generation Social-Gaming Portable Device. The PS Vita let's the user to experience a whole new level of gaming with combined high-end features such as; Motion Sensor, Rear Multi-TouchPad, Front Multi-TouchPad, Dual Shock Analog and the basic Action Buttons combined all together.

Vita, which means "Life" in Italian plans to live to its name, promising gamers to not experience Social-Gaming to it's fullest, of course, with the help of WiFi, 3G,d Bluetooth and the participation of it's carrier partner, AT&T, it will surely build a bond/network to it's users.  Truly, the age where Gamers play their RPG games alone has moved forward more and faster than we could have anticipated. Sony also claims that the PS Vita is perfect for Social Networking.

Features such as "Party" will enable users to Voice Chat real-time via Headset or Built-in mics on the same room regardless of their location and the game they are playing (Perfect for guild meetings, strategy discussions and such). Another Social Connecting Tool called Near will allow it's users to connect and interact with devices near them.

A Gamer's Point of View

Much have been said, the Sony PlayStation Vita is one of those gaming devices that we should look forward to along with it's other competitor devices such as: Razer Switchblade and Nintendo 3ds. I'm quite excited on where and how PS Vita will lead the programmers to adopt and come up unique and exciting Software for this. Another thing that excite me most is the Applications that will use the device's hardware-features to its fullest context that the developers itself never imagined possible (Remember iBrate? LOL).

What's next for Sony PlayStation? This is a question that struck me after researching about this device, maybe, just maybe, it will evolve to a Mobile Phone? Who knows.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog entry, I will surely update this every now and then to keep it on the edge with regards to information about PS Vita.
